

Hargeisa (Somaliland.com) – The International Delegation aimed at breaking the deadlock over the election delays in Somaliland today met with the chief justice of supreme court which also the constitutional court.
The Delegation which is led by the European Union Envoy to Somalia Nicolas Berlanga has visited with chief Justice Adan Haji Ali at his chambers today in the morning.
Chief Justice Adan Haji Ali briefing the press afterward said the delegation enquired about the legal aspects of the recommendations of the independent mediation committee on the subject of the electoral commission.
The mediation committee recommended the dismissal of the controversial electoral commission which was sworn-in just last month. It further called for reinstating the previous electoral commission which was not less controversial than its successor.
The chief justice said the court does not have any role in the dispute at the moment but is a stakeholder in the issue nonetheless.
