Somaliland police said they have arrested the masked man who recently killed a civilian and injured another in Hargeisa. Without providing his identities, the police noted the suspect intended to incite a security tension in the country.
According to a police officer, the incident was not related to a terrorism act but based on a land dispute as the suspect confirmed to the security agencies. The police pledged to bring the suspect to court very soon to face charges against him.
Last week, the masked man killed Abdi Handulle (Indho) who was a patrol security guard in Hargeisa and wounded a 17 year old man in Mohamed Mogeh. Initially the two victims were rushed to the hospital for treatment but, unfortunately Indho Handulle passed away in the hospital.
The perpetrator escaped from the scene after he wounded the two victims. The police believes why he shooted the second victim was just to incite insecurity in Hargeisa which they described as a new crime in the city.
