Somaliland President Muse Bihi has invited on Thursday notable figures that include; Ministers, Mayor, Sheikhs and intellectuals to focus on finding a solution to the conflict in LasAnod where there has been armed conflicts for a week and a few days now.
The President of Somaliland Muse Bihi presided over the consultative meeting at the Presidency where the officials mainly discussed the ongoing conflict in LasAnod which has been relatively calm for the last two days.
President Bihi extended an invitation with these officials in order to find a peaceful resolution regarding the status quo as most of the officials recommended solving the matter peacefully through dialogue.
However, President Bihi who several times stated his readiness to open talks with the locals of LasAnod refuted any party to impose pre-conditions towards future talks and said whoever gives conditions with ceasefire does not care for the good of Somaliland.
His statement came a day after his Vice President pronounced that the government gave a mandate of traditional elders from other regions of the country to sit with their counterparts in LasAnod in order to achieve stability and peace in Lascanod.
