Somaliland President Musa Bihi Abdi has issued a presidential decree reshuffling some of the provincial governors, sacking others and appointing new officials. This means new faces have joined Bihi’s administration.
According to the statement, Somaliland president has relieved all duties from Maroodijeeh, Hawd, and Sanaag provincial governors while appointing a new governor of Maroodijeeh, Mohamed Elmi Ahmed. He also appointed Mohamed Elmi Hussein as the new governor of Sanaag and Ahmed Yaasin to Hawd region.
This is the second reshuffle President Bihi has announced in a month. He previously reshuffled his cabinet, appointing new ministers including the foreign affairs minister. He also sacked other key ministers including the ministers of religious affairs, Agriculture, Energy, sports, the chairman of Somaliland civil service commission and the Governor of Somaliland’s Central Bank.
