The Secretary of Youth and Sports of Ucid party in Somaliland, Farah Ahmed Yusuf has spoken about Saturday’s match at the Hargeisa stadium in which a football player unprecedentedly attacked the referee for undisclosed reasons.
The Secretary also criticized the government and ministry of sports of Somaliland for not giving special consideration in sports, stating that almost every ministry made achievements excluding the ministry of sports and youth due to the lack of well defined laws for sports.
The Ucid party also recommended to the Somaliland government especially the parliament and the ministry of sports to enact new laws to avoid football clashes and grant more safety for the referees.
The party asked the ministry and the parliament to speed up the formation of these rules and its implementation as the country has recently recorded several cases that created controversies between the football clubs and referees.
