Somaliland house of elders spoke for the first time about the deportation of thousands of people mainly from Somalia in lasanod. They stated that some people misinterpreted the exercise and defended security forces for having made such choices.
The sitting which was chaired by the deputy speaker of the house Saed Ali has been strongly supported the country’s security forces to expell a large scale of undocumented immigrants from Lasanaod.

The house reitreated that this was intended to tighten the security in the region after several crimes including assassination of government officials took place in the city. Somaliland noted it took this decision after consulting with the regional officials and the residents.
They also warned against politicising the issue as long as it concerns the security of the country. The house of elders also urged the government to start similar actions in the other parts of the country.
