Residents of Hargeisa-the capital of Somaliland are counting losses after a heavy storm rain hit the coastal part of the country. The heavy storm has destroyed the telecommunication network especially in the western coast of Somaliland, however the total cost of the destruction cannot be estimated since more rain is expected during the better part of the week according to weather experts.
Some of the key towns that are badly affected are Bulla Xaar and Saylac. Berbera port city of Babul Mandab also had some storms with less intense.
The crossing between the border of Somaliland and Djibouti has temporarily suspended for safety reasons. So far there has been no communication from the government of Somaliland
Victims of the storm are in need of humanitarian assistance like shelter, food and medical supply.
