Somaliland’s supreme court has decided the Talo Wadaag political association spearheaded by Ibrahim Mahdi Buuba, a former Somaliland lawmaker to be among the final registered political association to attend the upcoming political parties and association election.
In a statement, the court noted it made the ruling after the Chairman of Talo Wadaag filed a case complaining about the previous results released by the political parties and associations registration committee which had announced that only Nine political associations qualified to participate in the forthcoming elections.
On 6 November, The committee for the registration of the political associations of Somaliland announced the final list of the registered political associations to contest the political parties’ election whose time has not yet been determined by the government and opposition parties.
However, the Political association election remains the center of conflict between President Bihi and the opposition. President Bihi pledged no other ballot to come before the political association election while opposition parties denied. They want either the two elections to be combined or the Presidential election to precede the other election.
