Taiwan is celebrating its first aniversary since it established a diplomatic office in Somaliland. Taiwan ambassador to Somaliland has reiterated his country’s commitment to deepen the developmental relationship with Somaliland in all sectors of the economy.
The first Anniversary of the establishment of The Taiwan representative office in the republic of Somaliland and Taiwan Scholarships awarding ceremony was graced by the major actors in government of Somaliland including the Vice President.
The Event which kick started with a Packaged Video of the opening of Taiwan office in Somaliland featured a virtual session of the Taiwan foreign Minister remarks.
The Taiwan Ambassador to Somaliland Allen Lou, Congratulated the people of Somaliland for the feat in hosting Taiwan successfully for over a year adding the gesture signaled a bright future for both Countries.
Lou pledged Taiwan’s continued Support to Somaliland as a gate way to other African nations. He said the two countries shared the same history, freedom and Culture. The ambassador reiterated that Taiwan will continue to support Somaliland in ICT, Agriculture, Energy, business and other sectors.
The Somaliland Minister for health appreciated Taiwan government for helping Somaliland in fighting Covid19.
Meanwhile the Mayor of Hargeisa, Abdikareem Ahmad Mooge expressed gratitude to Taiwan for the Support adding that the relationship stands to bring more benefits to both countries.
Mooge said Hargeisa and Taipei must be sister cities poised to grow together with hope for a brighter future.
He added that Hargeisa City is a beautiful place for Tourisms with top notch hospitality for a Strategic everlasting relationship with Taiwan.
The Somaliland vice president eschewed the need to take the relationship deeper and thanked the Taiwan givernment for the scholarships offered to the Somaliland youths.
Highlight of the event was the presentation of scholarship awards to 20 somlailanders by Taiwan representatives while in return there was a plague of presented to Taiwan to show appreciation
The scholarship award recipients could not but express their joy pledging to make Somaliland proud after their respective studies
