

Taiwan has donated a sum of $500,000 drought relief to Somaliland in fulfillment of its promises to the horn of Africa and to strengthen the ties between the two countries.
The Vice President of the Republic of Somaliland, HE Abdirahman Abdilahi Ismail (Saylici) received the donation from the Ambassador of Taiwan to Somaliland Allen Lou. The fund is to assist in the relief efforts for the people affected by the drought in Somaliland.
The handover ceremony held at the presidential palace was attended by members of the Drought Relief Committee and officials from the Taiwanese embassy led by Ambassador Allen Lou.
The Vice President thanked the Taiwanese government for its generous response to the people of Somaliland. He called on the rest of the world to follow Taiwan’s example and respond to their call for assistance in drought relief in many parts affected by drought in Somaliland.
