The President of the Republic of Somaliland H.E Muse Bihi Abdi on Sunday hosted a farewell ceremony to 33 students who won Taiwan Scholarships for 2021.
During the ceremony, Allen Chenhwa Lou, the Taiwan Representative to Somaliland stressed the prospect of Taiwan-Somaliland Educational Cooperation, and talked in-depth of the flourishing Taiwan-Somaliland ties.
According to a statement released, Taiwan revealed they shared the joy of the recipients before they travel to Taiwan by the end of this month. Allen lou expressed optimism that Taiwan Universities will offer more scholarships in the following years for Somaliland students.
He also emphasized the significance of the scholarships awarded to the students, and urged them to benefit from the chances. Somaliland and Taiwan have experienced diplomatic pressures from China and Somalia since they announced bilateral relations last year.
President Muse Bihi Abdi, challenged the scholarship recipients to be good ambassadors to their country and wished them a safe journey.
