NAIROBI, MAY 21:– UCID and Kulmiye official met with several European ambassadors today in Nairobi Kenya, for discussion relating to Somaliland’s elections.
UCID party chairman Feisal Ali Warabe and Kulmiye party deputy chairman Hon. Mohamed Kahin held a meeting with the European Union stakeholders and international community donors in Nairobi.
The EU diplomats included Denmark, Sweden, Germany, and the UK. Other organizations and stakeholders were also present in the meeting.
As confirmed by Somaliland’s representative in Kenya Mr. Bashe Awil Haji Omer, the EU envoys urged Somaliland’s commitment to continue to improve on elections administration and preparations in line with international best practices.
“The Somaliland delegation reiterated that Somaliland people deserve a well-planned election that is executed meticulously and one that will bring more stability and prosperity to our great nation.” Mr. Bashe said on a Facebook post.
Yesterday, UCID and Kulmiye leaders paid a courtesy visit to Kenya’s Majority Leader of the National Assembly, Mr. Aden Duale in his office. “They discussed linking the Somaliland Parliament to the Kenya Parliament and how the two houses can strengthen best practices and capacity building for Somaliland parliament.”
