Hargeisa (Somaliland.com) – The central police station of Erigavo, the administrative capital of Somaliland’s Sanaag region, came under attack last night. A group of unknown men opened fire at the police station after one a.m last night.
No losses have resulted from the nightly raid at the police station in Somaliland’s most northern town. So far, no group has claimed responsibility for the attack. All the attackers left the scene without any losses.
Abdirisaq Mohamed Farah, the police chief of Erigavo said the police have repelled the attackers. In a press conference at his office on Monday, the police chief said the police did not capture any of the assailants and that an investigation was going on. He urged the public to cooperate with the police to apprehend the assailants.

This is the first daring act of violence reported in Erigavo, the capital of Sanaag region which is relatively less stable than the rest of the country.
