The President of the Republic of Somaliland HE Mr. Muse Bihi Abdi has today received a delegation led by the United States Ambassador to Somalia and Somaliland Ambassador Donald Y. Yamamoto.
The President Muse Bihi Abdi and Mr. Donald Yamamoto discussed the issues of bilateral relations between the United States and Somaliland, as well as the cooperation between the two countries.
Particularly, the issue of the focus of this meeting was largely emphasized for the upcoming elections in the Republic of Somaliland and smoothingno election challenges.
It was also discussed the economic, geopolitical developments and security of the Horn of Africa.
President Bihi explained more about how Somaliland potential resources are suitable for US companies to invest and benefit for the development of Somaliland, as stated in the statement by the press secretary of presidential palace.
The US ambassador was accompanied by the head of the US Department of Commerce and Economic Affairs Ms Shella A. Billas and USAID Director.
The President of the Republic of Somaliland with the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Prof. Yassin Haji Mohamud Hir (Faratoon) and Finance Minister Dr. Sa’ad Ali Shire represented the Somaliland side.
