Waddani party top officials have paid a visit to Mohamed Ali who recently claimed that his testicle was damaged by the police during the 9th June protests in Hargeisa and had to be removed after police “refused” to allow him to seek medication. The police have however denied being involved with the crime.
The chairman of the party Hirzi Ali Haji Hassan described the situation as “unfortunate” stating that this is not the only crime the police had committed during the protests. He noted that a police officer kicked a woman in the chest whose video went viral on social media.
He added that the police should apologize for their actions against civilians’ rights and urged them to stop being a threat to the people they were supposed to protect.
On 9th June opposition parties had staged a protest demanding the acceleration of the electoral process.
