The Vice chairman of Somaliland’s Waddani party Ahmed Omar Hamarji spoke about his arrest by the Somaliland police for the first time after he was recently released from prison. Talking to CBA Somali service, Hamarji described the arrest as “Unconstitutional” and politically motivated.
Narrating about the contention between him and the government, he noted that he has been a target for some time by the security agencies, especially in days when the opposition protests were approaching. The Vice chairman also claimed he survived an “ assassination attempt” after his car was rammed by another car which he believes the intention was to tell the public he died in a car accident.
Ahmed Omar Hamarji put all the blame of his arrest and assassination attempt on President Bihi and his administration.
