The Sudanese Air Force has intensified raids and bombed positions held by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) in Al-Jazirah State. The strikes spanned various areas in the southern part near Sennar State and included the Beikah Bridge leading to Al-Manaqil City in the central region of the state.
The airstrikes, which occured on Sunday, were seen as a precursor to a broader offensive aimed at reclaiming control of Al-Jazirah State, which fell into the hands of the RSF in mid-December.
It was gathered that neighboring states to Al-Jazirah have mobilized their forces and expressed willingness to engage the RSF giving that the Commander-in-Chief of the Sudanese army recently declared an all-out war against the paramilitary group.
Meanwhile, in Khartoum State, clashes persisted as the army and RSF engaged in artillery exchanges across various areas on Sunday.
These developments follow the recent gains by the Sudanese army in Omdurman and the seizure of locations within Khartoum Bahri.
The conflict, which erupted in mid-April between the army and the RSF in Khartoum, has since expanded to involve several states in the Darfur and Kordofan regions, as well as Gezira state.
