Chairman of Sudan’s Transitional Sovereign Council and General Commander of the Sudanese Armed Forces, Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, declared that the military would persist in its conflict with the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF). He made the declaration on Friday in a video speech posted on the Telegram account of the Sudan Transitional Sovereign Council.
Al-Burhan affirmed that the fight will continue until every site in Sudan is restored.
This stance comes amid a nine-month-long war between the military and the RSF, led by Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo.
Although, the RSF head Hemedti had earlier this week accepted a ceasefire proposed by civilian groups, Al-Burhan rejected the peace efforts.
The situation remains tense as the military leadership stands firm in its commitment to confront the RSF, emphasizing the gravity of the alleged war crimes committed by the paramilitary group.
The ongoing conflict has significant implications for the stability and security of Sudan, with both sides showing no signs of backing down in the near future.
