The Ethiopian National Dialogue Commission is actively gearing up for the upcoming national dialogue, placing a temporary exemption on the participation of the Tigray and Amhara Regional states. The Commission unveiled its plans during a press conference, emphasizing its commitment to fostering inclusive discussions.
While the Commission is diligently working on crafting the agenda for the dialogue, it clarified that participants have been identified from 700 woredas across the country, excluding the Tigray and Amhara regions.
This exclusion, the Commission explained, is a temporary measure, and efforts to identify participants from Tigray and Amhara will commence in due course.
In the pursuit of a comprehensive and well-organized national dialogue, the Commission highlighted its ongoing efforts to engage various stakeholders, including members of the diaspora community, media representatives, activists, and international community representatives.
These consultative meetings have played a crucial role in shaping the framework for the dialogue.
There is anticipation for a meaningful and inclusive national dialogue that takes into account the unique perspectives and concerns of all Ethiopians, including those from the Tigray and Amhara regions.
