Tribal Clashes in Eastern Somaliland Erupted

Two armed tribes fought in Cawsane, Sanaag, in Eastern Somaliland. At the least, six poeple injured in the battle.  Farmland dispute is said to trigger the conflict however the guns fell silent.

People near the warzone say that the warring tribes still trenched against each. As far Somaliland newsletter knows, there is no mediation between the two sides.

Prone to conflict and infested with blood feuds and zero schooling, Eastern Somaliland witness more frequently making the country a lawless one.

Hardly a month passes without a bloodshed of innocent in the Eastern Somaliland.  This year, Biciido and Sacad Yonis’s cousin and in-laws killed each other; the casualties are estimated to 60 and it is situation is a fragile.

Muse Bihi Abdi Somaliland president said his government spent the insecurity and bloody wars in the Eastern Somaliland around nine millions USD. A figure that startled waterless nomads whose families die out of thirsty every year.  

More than a half of Somaliland national budget goes to security reinforcements and intelligence and nothing left for basic development including water and road construction but independent observers disagree. They claim a corruption and an embezzlement play a major role.
