Two Russian Hostages to be released Alongside Ten Israelis Today

Hamas has announced the imminent release of two hostages with Russian citizenship. A senior official from the political wing of Hamas, Moussa Abu Marzouk, made the announcement.

The Identities of the two Russian citizens are known, but their potential dual citizenship, including whether they also hold Israeli citizenship, remains unclear.

This development follows a visit by relatives of Israeli-Russian hostages currently held by Hamas in Gaza to Moscow earlier this week, to seek the assistance of the Kremlin in securing the release of their family members.

In addition to the release of the Russian hostages, a temporary ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas, mediated by the United States, Egypt, and Qatar, is set to lead to the release of ten Israeli hostages later today.

The diplomatic efforts aim to foster a more stable and peaceful environment in the region.
