According to the local press in Somalia, James Swan United Nation ambassador to Somalia met Fahad Yasin, Somalia’s National Intelligence Chief to galvanize the democratic process including the immediate elections, however, the meeting took place in Halane, ex-military training camp but currently a heavily guarded area very much similar to Iraq Green Zone.
The top of the agenda was security and bushing the presidential elections forward. Opposition parties have doubts that the government would excuse tself not to hold any election due to the pandemic.
this said meeting came a day or two after the US embassy in Mogadishu called Somali government to its regional administration to end the division among themselves and to work together for better Somalia. nonetheless, no official report yet nor any denial of the existence of the unannounced meeting.
