Mogadishu-27, October, 2018. Tomorrow, Somalia is hosting a summit of Organization of Islamic Cooperation Known as OIC. The initial delegates of the foreign ministers from the OIC countries arrived in Mogadishu and it’s not yet clear they pave the way for the summit of heads of states of the organization. As a member country of the OIC since the onset of the organization in 1972, it’s the first time, the conference ever held in Somali soil.
The delegates who arrived in Mogadishu airport are from Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Malaysia led by Hesham Assistant Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs of the OIC.
According the official of the OIC, Somalia a key founding state, the conference will be held in Mogadishu tomorrow.
The summit will impact Mogadishu’s image positively if it goes uninterrupted by security troubles.
