The Waddani Party in Somaliland has formally called upon President Muse Bihi to endorse the recently approved election law, following parliamentary approval and their opposition to a recent amendment by the house of elders.
Mohamud Adam Jama (Galaal), the Press Secretary of the Waddani Party, emphasized the party’s commitment to compliance with the legislative framework and urged the government to ensure timely elections.
Galaal highlighted the law as a crucial resolution to protracted political disagreements in Somaliland, citing widespread support from stakeholders for its potential to address longstanding issues.
The newly approved law proposes combining the Presidential and political association elections this year, aiming to mitigate historical disputes and foster a more unified electoral process if President Bihi endorses.
