

SOMALILAND.COM – Dhaanto, the famous Somali folk music, storms the U.S presidential campaign rallies this year. This among other firsts is the doing of the energetic young congresswoman Ilhan Omar.
Last night in St. Paul Minnesota, Ilhan danced to the rhythmic tunes of the famous Somali Dhaanto. Thousands of Bernie Sanders supporters cheered along.
Ilhan Omar, the first Somali American elected to Congress took the stage to campaign for Bernie Sanders, the front in the democratic primaries.
The song played at the rally is made by Ahmed Kaafiye especially for her reelection campaign this year.
Along with the fun, Ilhan Omar hit major progressive agendas in her speech. She railed against racism, inequality, and maltreatment of indigenous people.
Besides campaigning for Bernie Sanders, Ilhan is seeking reelection to the Minnesota fifth district seat in the House of Representatives. She has no Democratic challenger in the predominantly blue district.
