

Armed Somali group Al-Shabaab said it has carried out an attack on Kenyan military convoy near Mandera, a Kenyan town close to the border with Somalia.
The group claims to have killed nine Kenyan soldiers after breaking an ambush attack on Kenyan forces while heading to Elwak town in Gedo region of Jubbaland, Somalia.
The militant group said its attack also left four armored vehicles destroyed during the ambush.
Kenyan military did the not yet comment on the claims.
Kenya’s northeastern region has seen deadly attacks claimed by Al Shabaab. With most of those attacks left dozens dead.
