

Somali officials say a senior al-Shabab leader, has today surrendered to Somali National Armed Forces (SNA), in Baar-sanguuni, Lower Jubba in southern Somalia.
“A senior al-Shabab leader, Huseen Hasan Cambeer has today surrendered to Somali National Armed Forces (SNA) in Baar-sanguuni, Lower Jubba,” said Ismael Sheekh Isak, commander of Somali forces unit 11 section 43 in Lower Jubba.
Somali forces backed by the African Union Mission in Somalia (AMISOM) intensified operations on al-Shabaab militants in central and southern Somalia conducting consecutive offensives to flush the militants out of these regions.
