The US army said Wednesday it killed two Al-Shabaab militants in an airstrike in the northwest of Kismayu.
The Africa Command (AFRICOM) noted the strike hit Al-Shabaab ‘insurgents after they attacked a Somali patrol northwest of Kismayo, Lower Juba Province, Somalia on Sept. 17. ‘
Report of the strike comes amid heightened military offensives by Somali National Army in the Lower Jubba. The military said Wednesday it killed 15 militants near Afmadow Tuesday in a joint offensive with Jubbaland state forces.
In a related development, SNA forces killed a senior Al-Shabaab commander alongside a bombs-expert in Hiiraan region Tuesday.
