Nairobi- 13, October, 2018— ICOA office earmarked for Somalia is about to move to Somalia where it belongs. The remaining equipment in Nairobi is given to Somalia’s acting ambassador Ali Mohamed Sheikh. Mohamed Abdilahi Salaan Omar, the aviation minister for Somalia received the equipment.

“These tools are national assets and have to be sent to Mogadishu where the last few months the Somalia’s airspace has been operating from.”

Somalia’s airspace has been in chaos over decades. Both military and civilian airlines have used the airspace without paying any overflight charges and ICOA UN aviation agency in Montreal had never revealed if any overflight funds have accumulated.

Ethiopia’s Airlines and other companies have been flying over Somalia’s airspace for quite long time.
